Trailbreaker Reviews

‘A really compact course, with not enough hours in the weekend to ask all the questions and soak up all the expertise on offer from the instructors. All instructors were passionate, well informed and experienced in the subjects they presented to the group, whilst remaining impartial on subjects as when necessary. They were also accessible and approachable, and did well to accommodate us all picking their brains for information. I am passing these skills on to school children I work with.’ , Susan Cammish, TB, 2014
‘I wanted to thank you for the course. Your knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for bushcraft is infectious and I have found myself spending too much time staring at mushrooms since I’ve been back to normality! My slightly obscure butter knife and rush spoon have taken pride of place on the side (even if I haven’t admitted to myself and others that I had to learn how to plait to make it!).’ John Walsh, TB
‘The lovely weather helped, but being somewhere so quiet and learning all those new things was really exciting. I know making fire by friction isn’t exactly ideal in bushcraft terms but it was totally brilliant. I liked that both Steven and Lisa obviously had a depth of knowledge and experience but wore it lightly – they explained things really clearly, looked out for those of us who were struggling with a task and were willing to help at all times. I loved that we could camp anywhere, and that provision was made for the ‘non-party’ people to hide away if we wanted to (and I did). I liked that you kept to time but were flexible about what you covered to allow for the group’s interests.’ – Jackie Stanly 2014
