Why a Woodsmoke bushcraft course?

There are many reasons why so many people come to Woodsmoke to join a bushcraft course.

In recent years, bushcraft and wilderness survival has increased in popularity, however it has become a bit of a catch-all that spans a number of genres from military-style survival training to new-age wilderness philosophies and primitive living skills.

Our courses are not about playing the primitive, neither are we a military style 'boot-camp'. It is our belief that by drawing on the wealth of traditional living skills and the best of modern know-how, we offer you an opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, and gain a new perspective on the natural environment.

One of the things that makes Woodsmoke different is our full time commitment to professional teaching and expedition leading. We don’t sell equipment, and we don’t run bushcraft courses as a part-time occupation - we eat, sleep and breath bushcraft - teaching and leading in the outdoors throughout the year, enabling us to continually research and refining new techniques and equipment, in order to help you make informed choices and to be fully prepared for adventure travel in wilderness areas.
