Lakelander Testimonials
Firstly, a quick note of praise. From my own personal point of view the Lakelander course was a fantastic experience.
In a flagrant attempt to out-quote Ben - ‘‘the voyage of discovery is not in seeking out new landscapes, but in having new eyes'' (Marcel Proust).
Even a joker like me can appreciate the skill and obvious perfectionist effort that went in to making the boats that we were taught in. I consider it a privilege that you were prepared to let us learn in a craftsman’s craft. Thanks.
An Idyllic setting, beautiful, peaceful, tranquil and Canadian-esque, it gives you a taster of what frontiersmen would have experienced. Instruction by knowledgeable and enthusiastic people, both watercraft and woodcraft, believe me it couldn't help but be rubbed off onto me.
You are all down right too patient for your own good with us city folk, but I’m very pleased you want to take the time to share your obvious love of these things. I'm so looking forward to the woodlander.
All this, in my mind, must give you a distinct advantage for people who want to do a canoe course that relates to the history of the canoe and its 'journeyman' uses, and affirms the relationship that obviously exists between water-borne and woodsman’s skills.
Very much looking forward to seeing you all again soon.
