Stones & Bones

From Apes to Archaeologists

The art of working with stone tools is almost as old as mankind itself. This three-day flint knapping and bone carving workshop will transport you back to the early Mesolithic with Will Lord, replicating artefacts from flint and bone, using the exact same technology that was employed 11,000 years ago.

Led by Will Lord, you will follow the evolutionary steps in the development of different types of stone and bone tools, and learn the basic techniques of lithic technology.

The core thrust of this course isn't to come away with a pretty arrow head -it is to make functional stone tools and in turn, use them to make functional bone tools.
