Advanced Bushcraft Carving Techniques using specialist Bushcraft knives
This fantastic course takes the addictive art of ‘whittling’ and wood carving to its zenith. The ability to create beautiful, decorative and useful items from natural materials, that are easily obtainable from your local environment or wood-pile, is both incredibly absorbing and ultimately satisfying – you will never need to buy another birthday or Christmas gift again! Basic knife competency is a prerequisite for this course as we move straight into advanced carving techniques, focusing on the finer details of woodcraft. The course will cover classical Scandinavian carving projects and decorative techniques, such as Kolrosing, and aspects of our own traditional British heritage of greenwood carving.

- Kolrosing – An ancient Scandinavian technique for wood engraving and dye
- Pyrography – techniques for scorching and burning patterns
- Antler, bone and wooden buttons and toggles
- Finishing, seasoning, oiling and caring for wooden utensils
| Please Note: You will be given your own handmade ‘Ben Orford’ chip knife to keep, but it is also essential that you bring your own ‘Gransfor Bruk’ ‘Small Forest Axe’. |
